Paul meets a runaway servant of Philemon and leads him to Christ. This letter to Paul’s friend, Philemon, is asking for Onesimus’ forgiveness and freedom as he returns to make things right.
I’m guessing this very personal letter of appeal was readily received by Paul’s friend. Paul quite probably led Philemon himself to the Lord!
God is sovereignly restores even through tangles and broken circumstances.
We all have bad circumstances that seem hopeless to navigate…but God is able.
Trust God no matter what.
This entire passage give great hope of the Gospel straightening out the most tangled messes.
Lord God, you are sovereign. I trust you no matter what.
